Royal Canin Giant Puppy Dry Dog Food is tailor-made for puppies up to 8 months old with an expected adult weight of over 100 lbs. Your giant puppy is destined for big things—and as they grow, they have big nutritional needs. Giant breed dogs have the longest growth period out of other sized dogs—that’s why Royal Canin growth formulas for giant-sized dogs come in two stages: Giant Puppy and Giant Junior. This Giant Puppy dry dog food is made specifically for the first stage (up to 8 months). As they grow in size, their bones and joints are building a foundation for their giant frame. What you feed them now sets them up for a healthy, happy life as an adult.
Royal Canin Giant Puppy dry dog food is targeted nutrition made for your lovable giant. Its precise calcium and phosphorus content helps promote strong bones and joint health, while key antioxidants and minerals support their developing immune systems and keep their bodies growing strong. Highly digestible proteins and prebiotic ingredients also help break down food while promoting healthy digestion and optimal stools. This exclusive kibble is designed specifically for your growing dog’s large jaw to help them chew their kibble thoroughly.

We recently switched our 4 month old Rottweiler puppy from Science Diet large breed puppy to Royal Canin giant puppy food. I settled with this formula after being directed to it by the Royal Canin website. She has been on the food for several weeks now and I have noticed an increased sheen in her coat. One unpleasant side effect we’ve noticed is her gas and stools have become very offensive. The bag did note the formula included probiotic microbes so it could be that she is still adjusting to her new diet.
As mentioned on another review, this kibble does appear to stay moist and not dry out like our Science Diet kibble did. We store the food in the original bag and use tape to seal the opened end after rolling it onto itself several times. The kibble is moderate sized but appropriate for a growing puppy of this size.

Arrived in perfect sealed condition. My Dogo Argentinian is a super picky eater and loved the Royal Canin puppy food. I’ve never witnessed him enjoying kibble till now. Glad I did the auto ship option.

My great dane puppy loved Taste of the Wild food but it did not agree with him. The pieces were to small so he would eat to fast and then cough up a lot of it. That food also gave him gas which made me nervous since XL dogs can get bloat. Royal Canin has been a great fix for both of those issues. He loves the food and the kibble is large enough that he needs to chew it which helped a lot with both the eating to fast and the gas issues. I am also glad they offer the Giant breed in puppy, junior, and adult to help with his development. Now my little guy is happy, healthy, and steadily putting on about 3-4lbs a week.

Dog loved it. However, like head line. When it arrives IT NEEDS to have a vacuum sealed appearance. If it doesn’t look vacuum sealed inside the bag. ITS BAD. not realizing this we fed it to our Great Dane puppy. He had EXPLOSIVE diarrhea in his cage over night. YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHAT THIS SMELLS LIKE OR THE MAGNITUDE OF WHAT COMES OUT!!!
Please, make sure it is sealed, or – “vacuum sealed appearance” no actual gas or air inside the bag until YOU open it. After that I would HIGHLY recommend using the ziplock on the bag for freshness.

I have an 18 mo old Dane mix and this is by far the best food I have given him. I tried other brands of food and I hated all of them. His skin was dry and itchy and his fur dull and flat. He has no skin issues with Royal Canin and his coat is so shiny. He also eats less compared to other dog foods I tried. I started him on the Royal Canin for giant puppies then switched to the junior when he turned 18 months. He’s 110 lbs and seems to be finished growing.

I have a Harlequin Great Dane, and this food has been awesome for him. We needed a giant large puppy food for him, and there are not that many out there. I did my research, and this was the best food for his sensitive digestive system. He has had no problems what so ever. He is 14- weeks old and already 65 lbs. The dog food has all the right ingredients. It maybe a little on the expensive side, and he goes through 2 bags a month, as of right now. They do make a junior dog food, after he turns about 8 months old. As they say ” You get what you pay for”, and I feel like thqat this is the best dog food that I can get for him.

My dog loves the product. But can someone explain to me why the large breed comes in a 35lb bag but the giant breed comes in a 30lb bag?

This is great food. HOWEVER… THIS IS THE 2nd bag(including replacement bag) of this food I have recieved with slits cut in the bag. Box packaging is fine. Bag states do not use if not vacuum packed..AND THE REPLACEMENT BAG CAN NOT BE RETURNED/REPLACED. SO NOW I HAVE TRASHED 2 BAGS OF FOOD **DUE TO AMAZON CUTTING BAG IN PACKAGING**. I’M OUT THE MONEY, AND HAVE HAD TO TRAVEL 50 MILES TO BUY THE FOOD TO FEED MY PUPPY! SO THIS 1 BAG OF FOOD HAD COST ME OVER $120 DOLLARS! ***** THIS IS GREAT FOOD!!!!!! *****DO NOT BUY FROM AMAZON********

He would stick his nose up at other foods but not this one! He loves it!!! the kibble is large and has an oily sheen like it has oil in it. His coat is beautiful and he gets compliments everywhere we go. Yes, its pricy but these dogs have such a short life expectancy, let him live a little!
