Royal Canin Mother & Babycat Ultra-Soft Mousse in Sauce wet cat food is formulated for the specific needs of growing baby kittens (1-4 months) and queen cats (pregnant or nursing).
Baby cats grow so quickly that certain kitten foods aren’t tailored to their nutritional needs. A mother cat’s milk has protective antibodies to support her kitten’s natural defenses. But as a baby cat transitions to eating solids, their immune systems are still developing. This “immunity gap” leaves a kitten in a fragile state. With growing bones, emerging teeth, and developing immune and digestive systems, they need the right nutrition for healthy growth.
Royal Canin Mother & Babycat Ultra-Soft Mousse in Sauce feeds your young kitten’s magnificence from the very start with the building blocks needed for healthy growth: Essential nutrients like DHA for brain development. Immune system-strengthening antioxidants and vitamins. Highly digestible proteins and prebiotics for a maturing digestive system. And with its ultra-soft mousse texture made for tiny mouths, you can easily transition your newborn kitten into a more “grown-up” diet of solids.

I fostered 3 abandoned kittens this summer starting when they were 2 weeks old. Having never had a cat, much less baby kittens, I had to do a lot of research. When it came time to start the weaning process, I chose Royal Canin Mother & Babycat Ultra, which consistently appeared in the top 5 for canned kitten foods in the lists I saw. I made Royal Canin my final selection because it has a mousse consistency. I wanted to mix it with the kittens’ formula and feed it to them in their bottles to get them used to the texture and taste of solid food, as well as get their little tummies acclimated to a new food. It worked like a charm. After being on the slurry for a week none of them had any problems making the change from the slurry to a bowl of the Royal Canin.
The kittens must have loved the flavor as they came running and dug in as soon as I put their bowls down. One more thing, the kittens said that Royal Canin Mother & Babycat Ultra was really squishy when they stepped in it, and it was soft on their tender, little kitten feet. That is really important when you have to keep one paw in your bowl to keep a sibling from stealing your portion.

Is a good item and healthy for kittens with frequent vowel movements! However, kittens become fussy and one of them doesn’t like this now which is a shame.

Over the course of the last several years, several of my girls have had litters of kittens. I have also fostered pregnant cats. It is imperative that kittens, as well as pregnant, and new mother cats, receive proper nutrition.
I feed Royal Canin Mother & Babycat, to all litters of kittens, and to their mothers. It is great for their brains, bodies, and coats. I also feed it to pregnant cats to help with the prenatal development of their litter, as well as to ensure that the soon-to-be mother cat is receiving all of the nutrition that she needs. A pregnant cat is eating for more than one, and in most cases, she is eating for an additional five to six babies.
Mother & Babycat is an ultra-soft mousse that kittens, and adults, love. The texture is very appealing to kittens as they develop their preferences for textures, and flavours, of food. It is very easy to digest. It provides essential nutrients that developing kittens need. One can begin using Mother & Babycat once the kittens begin to wean, at about one month to two months of age, depending on the kittens. I feed the mousse in combination to the dry food. A weaning kitten will continue to nurse its mother, even up to six months of age. The act of nursing is calming to kittens, even if the mother cat is no longer producing milk. Generally, most kittens are fully weaned by two-and-a-half to three months of age, but some continue to nurse for several more months. While this is normal, the weaning time is generally shortened when the nutritional value of the cat food is good.
Royal Canin is an excellent brand of food for cats. I highly recommend it. I also recommend purchasing it from Amazon. Because Royal Canin is quality cat food, and not toxic junk, it is, in my opinion, very expensive cat food. With Amazon, the pricing is fair, there are always sales and special deals on pet foods, and with Subscribe and Save, one saves even more money with regular deliveries.
I have paid as much as $21.99 + tax, for this 12 pack of canned food, when purchasing it in various pet stores. With Amazon, I have never paid more than $17. Amazon offers an excellent value for the money, and it is money well spent.
I am no longer using the Mother & Babycat, at this time, because the cats that I have have grown past the age where it is necessary. I have switched to them to different food. However, if and when I have another pregnant cat, or litter of kittens: I will begin using it again. I swear by it.
